SAIPAN Humane Society is pleased to announce several initiatives aimed at improving animal welfare and healthcare in the CNMI throughout May and beyond.
Visiting Vet Services Available from May 13-22
Banfield Foundation is back! SHS will host their visiting veterinarian Dr. Katie Hayward and veterinary technician Emily Lundstorm from May 13 to 22.
Services offered include:
Sick consultations
General check-ups
Rabies vaccines
Please note: this visit is not spay/neuter focused.
If you would like to spay/neuter your pet, email clinic@saipanhumanesociety.org to be placed on the waitlist. Don’t worry — there are several spay/neuter clinics scheduled for later this year. SHS will reach out to you when the schedule is open.
Health certificates
For those wanting to transport their pet off-island, reach out to the Department of Lands and Natural Resources-Animal Health Section at cnmianimalhealth@gmail.com or (670) 256-3319. Health certificates will be available
Shelter promotion
Effective from May 2025 until the end of the year, SHS will offer the following benefits to dogs adopted from the Mayor’s Dog Shelter:
Free spay and neuter services
First vaccine series free
First dose of Simparica Trio free with 3 subsequent discounted doses. This is a preventative treatment for heartworm, internal worms, fleas, and ticks
To qualify for these benefits, adopters must present proof of adoption at SHS.
Food distribution
SHS will distribute pet food during clinic hours beginning May 1. Each household will receive one pitcher of cat and/or dog food while supplies last, free of cost. Participants must bring their own containers to carry out the food.
Remainder of 2025
There are multiple veterinary visits scheduled for the remainder of 2025, including free or low-cost spay/neuter opportunities. Please await further announcements regarding these clinics.
