San Antonio celebrates Santo Niño

“We have invited people all over the island who have statues or other images of the Santo Niño to come and participate,” said Herbert Del Rosario, president of the San Antonio Parish Church pastoral council.

A procession was scheduled at 10 a.m. but because of the rain, it was held in the vicinity of the church’s social hall.

“This celebration has been observed in the parish for three years,” said Fr. Jojo Santos, parish priest of the church.

Everyone was encouraged to dance during the procession.

“In olden times King David danced praising the Lord. As we do the procession we should also dance praising the Lord to the beat of the drum and the sound of the whistle,” Santos said.

After the procession, candies were given away to the participants.

In other news, the parish will hold a fundraiser activity, Little Mr. and Ms. San Antonio.

“Boys and girls from five to 12 are encouraged to join event,” Santos said.
