San Antonio school holds Sports Day

The event, he said, is held every quarter to promote physical fitness and health among schools.

He said “Octopus Sports Day” involved all students, teachers, administrative staff and parents in different competitive games which included the three-legged-race, the tug-of-war, and the obstacle course.

He said  many parents showed up to cheer on their children.

Some of the parents also joined the event, he added.

The event started with the kindergarteners from the morning and afternoon classes challenging each other in the three-legged race and ended with the sixth graders in the obstacle course.

The main event of the day was the tug-of-war between the lower grade  and upper grade teachers, which the lower graders won mainly due to assistance from the parents.

“Everyone is looking forward to more challenges and lots more fun at next quarter’s Octopus Sports Day,” Taitano said.

Kindergarten teacher Rita Carreon said Friday’s event was chaired by Bernice Fejeran and coordinated by Ron Olopai and Taitano.
