SENATOR Celina R. Babauta on Tuesday contributed 100 cubic yards of base course quarry materials for the immediate repair of Chalan Galaide Road, near Mount Tapochao.
In a statement to Variety, Babauta said the Saipan Mayor’s Office “will do the repairs.”
She said the “condition of Chalan Galaide has been a major concern for residents and commuters alike. This road has suffered significant deterioration due to recent downpour, creating safety hazards and inconveniencing the community.”
Babauta said she is “committed to finding solutions to improve our infrastructure and improve the quality of life for our residents.”
The Saipan senator further said that the base course will be used to address critical areas of the road, including potholes and uneven surfaces.
“This immediate repair work will significantly improve the drivability of Chalan Galaide and enhance safety for all road users,” she said.
She thanked the Saipan Mayor’s Office for its action in addressing a pressing community concern. She also stressed the importance of continued collaboration between government agencies and community leaders to effectively address infrastructure challenges.
