In her report to the SHEFA board headed by Oscar M. Babauta, Rasa said 824 applications are still pending.
She added that 53 applications have been denied due to an incomplete application package; the applicant has met the maximum award duration; or a student did not maintain the 2.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average requirement.
This Spring term, Rasa said 84 applicants want to study at the Northern Marianas Trades Institute.
Of the total number of applicants, 556 are freshmen; 320, sophomores; 228, juniors; 102, seniors; 110 graduate students or those seeking a master’s degree; 28 seeking an advanced degree, a doctorate or a juris doctorate.
Rasa said 86 of the applicants have enrolled in certificate courses; 493, associate degree; 627, bachelor’s degree; 110, master’s degree; and 28 advanced or doctoral degree.
