Tannakan said he went to check the laptop and discovered it was one of 11 he lost to thieves on May 20.
“I bought it back from the taxi driver for $200,” he said.
Tannakan said it was sad that he had to buy what was stolen from him.
He said the driver did not know the person who sold the laptop, but he bought it because it was cheap.
Tannakan said he has yet to get updates from the Department of Public Safety regarding the robbery.
“I hope the other people who can buy the items from my store will have the heart to return it to me, and I hope the suspects will be arrested,” he said.
Tannakan lost computers and electronic products like video cameras, digital cameras, PSPs, iPods, computer mouse and other items to thieves.
Tannakan has been on Saipan for the past five years and his store has already been robbed twice.
Police said they are still conducting an investigation.
