Demapan said despite its hazardous condition since it was destroyed by high tide a few years ago, Sugar Dock remains a favorite spot for residents.
The part of the dock that has caved in is dangerous especially to children, he added.
“So I communicated with responsible agencies, like the Department of Public Works, to fix the problem right away,” he said.
Demapan asked DPW to barricade the dock so nobody can go there.
He said the repair work is scheduled to commence today.
“We ask members of the public for their full cooperation and understanding during these days of construction activities,” Demapan said.
