THE male suspect who caused a disturbance at Chacha Ocean View Middle School had fled the campus before the responding police officers arrived, Police Sgt. Fred Sato said on Thursday.
On Wednesday, COVMS authorities placed the school on lockdown to ensure the safety of all students, staff and individuals on the premises after an unauthorized person entered the campus.
According to Sato, who is the DPS public information officer, at around 11:31 a.m. on Jan. 17, 2024, police received a call reporting a disturbance at Chacha in Kagman.
“Upon arrival, campus staff informed responding officers that a male individual had attempted to confront a faculty member and had become angry upon being asked to leave by the school staff. The staff immediately requested police assistance,” Sato said.
However, when the officers arrived, the male suspect had already fled the campus, he said, adding that DPS has increased its presence in the area.
“The incident is under investigation, and no arrest has been made yet,” Sato said.
