Symposium on military contracting opportunities starts tomorrow

The symposium, which is sponsored by the Office of the U.S. Defense Representative for the CNMI, Guam, Palau and the Federated States of Micronesia, is a chance for businesses and other entities to get information and how to avail of business opportunities with the military.

The symposium is being co-hosted by the Naval Facilities Engineering Command Marianas, and the CNMI government.

CNMI, Commerce Secretary Michael Ada will talk about the military integration management committee brief, while incoming Saipan Chamber of Commerce president Doug Brennan and current president Jim Arenovski will present what the commonwealth can offer the military and prime contractors.

Jessie Sablan of the Saipan Contractors Association will discuss the status of the association, while James Martinez, executive director of Guam Contractors Association, will give updates on Guam’s contractor issues.

The other speakers are Joint Region Marianas executive director Roy Tsutsui, Guam Chamber of Commerce board member Carl Peterson, and NACFAC Marianas commanding officer Capt. Peter S. Lynch.
