HONIARA (Pacnews) — Solomon Islands Ambassador to Taiwan Seth Gukuna has been summoned by Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taipei to clarify a proposed trip by a high level delegation to China.
During question and answer session on the final day of the parliamentary session yesterday, the MP for Baegu/Asifola, Dr. Steve Aumanu, asked Minister of Foreign Affairs Alex Bartlett to confirm the China trip.
Bartlett said the present government was reviewing its foreign policy, but any political or commercial delegation to China has nothing to do with the review.
Bartlett said the government had no plan to sever relations with Taiwan.
