(Commonwealth Utilities Corporation) — Due to inclement weather, the temporary road closure on Chalan Pale Arnold in Chinatown set for Thursday, Sept. 12, 2024, has been rescheduled for today, Friday, Sept. 13, 2024.
Temporary road closure time: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Roadways affected: North and southbound lanes on Chalan Pale Arnold, Chinatown.
Purpose: To allow CUC wastewater operators to conduct sewer line cleaning on an overflowing manhole caused by the heavy rainfall.
Due to the temporary road closure, motorists are advised to reduce speed and exercise caution while driving in the area, or take alternative routes. Detour signs will be displayed to inform the traveling public of the restrictions.
Customers connected to CUC’s Chinatown sewer lines will not be affected as CUC crew will be onsite pumping out sewage during the cleaning period to prevent any backflows and overflows.
