Tenorio wants office audited

Tenorio, who is serving his second term, is one of the five candidates for the congressional delegate seat.

The CNMI government owns the Washington, D.C. property where Tenorio’s office is located.

There are also two government vehicles assigned to his office — a 2004 Toyota Sequoia and a 2006 Dodge Caravan.

“The D.C. property and the government house the district office currently occupies will revert back to the CNMI government. At the end of my term, I will be turning over to you the deed to the D.C. office. I have recently written the CNMI public auditor requesting a financial audit of WRO and he has agreed to conduct a closeout audit,” Tenorio said in a letter to the governor, a copy of which was transmitted to the Legislature.

“The insurance on the building and two automobiles will be expiring in August. I will be renewing the insurance policy for the period up to 1/2/09 for the building and automobiles and will have them cancelled thereafter unless I hear from you otherwise,” he added.

He also informed the governor that agreements that he entered on behalf of the CNMI government for phone and DSL lines, gas and utilities, a leased postage meter and maintenance agreements on their office machines will be cancelled by January next year.

Tenorio’s staff members are currently updating their inventory list — a report will be provided to OPA and the Department of Finance.

The current budget of the Washington representative’s office is $800,000.
