Judge David A. Wiseman dismissed the case filed against Elgene Reyes Shai with prejudice.
Shai was charged with stealing coins from a poker game room last year.
It was not mentioned by the court why the case was dismissed.
Shai was supposed to make a change of plea at the Tinian courthouse, but the court “based on the matters adduced and for good cause shown” dismissed the case.
Assistant Attorney General Tiberius Mocanu represented the government, while Shai was represented by attorney Joaquin Torres.
On or about Nov. 29, 2010, Shai entered the Huang Shun Poker Room’s cashier’s booth and took a basket of coins, amounting to $394.75, police said.
