Data showed that although the number of total registered youths at schools and villages continue to increase, the number of those who actually cast their ballots declined.
In 1998, there were 1,200 registered youth voters; in 1999, there were 1,542.
But the number of those who actually voted in those years, along with the data of the 2000 election, were not in the master file.
In 2001, there were 2,653 registered voters of whom 1,879 showed up on election day.
In 2002, of the 2,965 registered voters only 1,958 exercised their right to suffrage.
There were only 1,825 voters in 2003 when 2,670 registered.
In 2004, of the 2,454 registered voters only 1,903 cast their ballots.
In 2005, 2,931 registered and 1,942 voted.
In 2006, 3,740 registered and 1,978 voted.
Last year, there were 3,870 registered voters but only 1,939 voted on election day.
