MAJESTY Restaurant & Catering in Garapan provided 188 free hot meals and relief packages to local families on Thanksgiving as it marked the second year of its Full Belly, Full Hearts program to help those affected by the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the program was launched last year, Majesty Restaurant said a total of 2,000 hot meals and close to 700 family grocery relief bags had been distributed.
The second annual Thanksgiving distribution was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Dr. Kan Hou-Sek Jim of Win Win Way Construction Holdings Ltd., the main contractor for Saipan Resort Hotel, owned by Honest Profit International and located north of the Pacific Islands Club Saipan in San Antonio.
Majesty Restaurant management would also like to extend special thanks to its culinary team and kitchen staff; Yaong Corp. for donating frozen cases of chicken to supplement the Thanksgiving meal; Maricon Bricia-Allen of SketchMade for printing volunteer t-shirts; Saipan Ice & Water for the discounted water bottles; and the volunteers.
The event was conducted in compliance with the Covid-19 protocols, such as social distancing and wearing of face masks, among other safety measures.
A Covid-19 Task Force enforcer was assigned to ensure that everyone followed the rules. In addition, a separate drive-thru line was created for those who opted to stay in their vehicles.
“The generous donations of hot meals have provided a lifeline to those who are struggling with the economic impact of the Covid-19 crisis,” said one of the volunteers who requested anonymity.
“We thank Dr. Kan of Win Win Way and Mr. Alfred Ho of TDI Group of Companies for supporting this initiative and for making the holidays a little brighter for people in need right here in our community,” she added.
