Bureau of Public Safety Patrol Division Chief Ismael Aguon said that they conducted a checkpoint at the Ngarachamayong Cultural Center area in Koror on July 23 at 10:45 p.m.
Aguon said a vehicle came through the checkpoint and was observed driving in an unsafe manner.
The driver was questioned and was determined later to be intoxicated.
Aguon said the driver was arrested for DUI and reckless driving.
He said the DUI arrest was the first of this year and they will conduct more sobriety checkpoints to prevent DUI incidents.
Aguon said, numerous citations and traffic violations has been issued to motorists during separate checkpoints.
