Asarias Isidoro was charged with four counts of assault and battery for injuring four people when he crashed the boat he was operating into the victim’s boat.
Isidoro was charged for operating a boat recklessly at night without lights on and for operating a boat under the influence of alcohol resulting to a collision on March 29.Isidoro was summoned to appear in court on June 16 at 1:30 p.m. in Koror to face his charges.The information filed in court on May 19 stated that Isidoro assaulted Angel Matchiau, Lauret Sikiaka, Gregory Cauty and Thomas Pierrat-Carre on March 29 while the victims were aboard another boat.The affidavit of probable cause stated that a boat collision was reported to the police at 8:15 pm on March 29 in Malakal.Isidoro was operating a Twin Yamaha boat at night without lights when he hit the victims’ boat.The victim’s boat was operated by Matchiau while the three other victims were his passengers.The court document stated that the victims boat had running lights on when hit by the defendant’s boat.The document stated that “defendant’s bow road over and through the starboard bow side of the victims boat then, the defendant’s boat slid back into the water.”The victims were transported to the hospital for injuries.The document stated that Isidoro had strong odor of alcohol at the time of the incident.Isidoro was subjected for a Field Sobriety test and failed.He admitted that he did not have running lights on and he drank one beer.
