HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A traffic stop Thursday resulted in the arrest of a man and woman, as well as the seizure of a little more than two ounces of methamphetamine and $4,132 cash.
On Friday, the Guam Police Department announced in a press release that “a significant interdiction operation” conducted by their Special Investigation Section personnel in the central area “resulted in the apprehension of individuals involved in illegal narcotics activities.”
The release went on to explain that after officers conducted a traffic stop because of a violation on Thursday, both occupants of the car showed signs of being under the influence of illegal narcotics.
Upon a pat-down search of Brian Duenas Quidachay, suspected methamphetamine was discovered, which led officers to search the vehicle, leading to the seizure of “larger quantities of suspected methamphetamine” and the confiscation of “a substantial amount of U.S. currency believed to be derived from the illegal sale of narcotics,” the release stated.
Quidachay was subsequently arrested under suspicion illegal possession and distribution of a Schedule II controlled substance.
A woman, Brittney Duenas, was also taken into custody and arrested on suspicion of illegal possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
According to GPD, a check of law enforcement databases also revealed an outstanding warrant for Duenas’ arrest, which resulted in additional charges for the execution of warrants.
In total, GPD seized 2.29 ounces of methamphetamine and $4,132, the release stated.
Both Quidachay and Duenas have been confined at the Department of Corrections and the case was forwarded to the Office of the Attorney General.
