MARIANAS Global Inc., the Korean company that has signed a master concessionaire agreement with the Department of Public Lands, is  preparing for a grand opening on Managaha early next year.

They will announce the date soon, said MGI Founder and Chief Executive Officer Younghee Yoon who also told reporters on Tuesday that the renovation of facilities and the construction of additional features on Managaha will be completed before the end of the year.

With Yoon at the press briefing at the Hyatt Regency Saipan were Marketing Specialist Johan Lee; Marianas Meat Harvesting Co. Division Director Daeil Lee; and P&A Corp. General Manager Doyi Kim

Following the signing of the master concessionaire agreement, MGI has begun providing services to the tourists visiting Managaha, except for food and beverages which are provided by Marianas Meat Harvesting Co.

Kim said the details of the sub-concession agreement between MGI and Marianas Meat Harvesting “are still in the works.”

Speaking on behalf of MGI, Johan Lee said they estimate to receive between 700 to 800 tourists a day on Managaha. They also anticipate the return of tourists from Japan so they will have to prepare for 1,000 tourists a day.

Johan Lee said their amenities will include marine sports activities.

Right now, they have not decided whether to operate their own transportation vessels, but once they become fully operational next year, they are ready to meet their customers’ demand.

MGI, which will pay DPL $800,000 in annual rent, plans to invest $10 million to develop Managaha into a world-class marine leisure town.
