Max Aguon plants fruit trees in Grotto parking area

MARCELINO “Max” Aguon has planted fruit trees in the parking area of the island’s most popular diving spot, the Grotto in Marpi, to make it more attractive to tourists.

An employee of the Division of Parks and Recreation-Department of Lands & Natural Resources assigned to the Grotto, Aguon planted papaya, coconut, mango, guava, and pomegranate trees in the area.

“This to make it more beautiful,” he said.

Aguon is a multi-awarded community volunteer who has received many commendations and awards for his volunteer work in cleaning up tourist sites and popular beach areas while promoting awareness to protect the environment.

Recently, Aguon was named DLNR employee of the year.
