BEGINNING Friday, June 3, the Marianas High School Special Education Program will hold its first annual “Make It Count!” Summer Camp-Out.
From Friday afternoon to Sunday evening, participants will have the opportunity to join activities centered on topics such as independent living and responsibility.
The main goal of this camp-out is to assist students in providing post-secondary transition support, such as integrated basic life skills and independent skills that will allow them to experience responsible independent living in real time.
Students will have fun socializing with their peers with camp-out and recreational activities.
Among their activities are a fundraising in-campus car wash, swimming, kayaking, and stargazing.
Participants are pre-picked students who will be transitioning to adult life after the 2022-2023 school year.
Since this is a first-time event, 12 students from the program have already been selected to participate this year.
However, should the event continue in the future, the program may send out more information and encourage more students to participate.
Interested participants are given a permission form for parents or guardians to sign.
The event is completely free and only open to MHS Special Education Program students.
