The minor who suffered a fractured rib and spine was pronounced dead at 6 am.
The victim had been under observation at the Intensive Care Unit since August 8 due to fractured rib and spine.The victim’s body is now at the morgue. His funeral has yet to be announced.A source told Palau Horizon that the victim’s family and relatives were all there when he was pronounced dead.The victim was in the company of three other minors when they figured in car collision last Saturday afternoon.The victim was sitting at the passenger side driven by a 16-year-old man when they figured in a car collision on August 8.The incident was reported to the police at 2:06 pm at the Causeway by the Long Island Park.There were four minors aboard a vehicle including the victim and the driver.The vehicle was travelling on a high speed towards Malakal when it swirled and entered center lane and collided into another vehicle.The driver and the two other passengers at the back received minor injuries while the victim was admitted to the ICU for observation.Meanwhile, two persons were also hurt when a single car runs off the roadway in Airai Thursday.The victims complained of back pains including the driver.Investigation revealed that the car was travelling towards Ngaraard on a high speed and upon approaching a residence in Airai the driver lost control of the vehicle and hit the side of the road.Another vehicle reportedly run off the road and fell into the ocean in Meyuns Friday night.The driver had fled the scene before the arrival of the responding police officers.
