The victim and his friend went to the Mobil when seven young boys attacked his friend.
The victim tried to stop the fight and went out of his way to prevent the boys from attacking his friend.
The victim was stabbed in the chest by one of the attackers.
The incident happened on the night of December 24 but the victim’s mother reported the incident to the police on January 3.
Another juvenile was also stabbed in the abdomen by another man on New Year’s Day.
The incident happened in Airai.
The victim was stabbed in the lower right abdomen, and sustained laceration in the left face and left arm.
Meanwhile 18 other persons were also arrested over the weekend for various offenses.
Bureau of Public Safety Director Norvert Yano identified the persons as Neil Laronimo, 41; Randy Mabel; Allan Sauro, 39; Olgnerlel Camacho, 23; Danny Ngiraibai, 29; Javis Mamis, 19; Techur Olkerwil, 22; Shadow Ngiraklai, 18; Kailang Ngirturong, 24; Tiston Santos, 19; Virginia Balmes, 52; Schmul Rekemesik, 19; Rechemang Adelbai, 49; Ivan Niro, 34; Irachal Olblay; Temol Malsol, 19; Udui Floriano, 20; Iyan Koshiba, 18; Rachuldak Sakuma, 24; Edward Ongerong, 40; Iyar Ngirchomelei, 32;Roger Tatsuo and Anthony Kladikm, 52.
They were arrested for drunken and disorderly conducts, malicious mischief, disturbing the peace, negligent driving, DUI and reckless driving and assault and Illegal consumption of alcohol and littering.
Meanwhile a man was arrested for assaulting his nephew with a yard rake on January 3.
Yano identified the man as Lorenzo Katosang. He was arrested for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Katosang assaulted his nephew with a rake when the latter stopped him from throwing rocks at the victim’s brother’s pet dogs.
A man also reported that he was punched in the face by another man in Malakal on January 3.
Mangaisang Orrukem, 24, was also arrested for hitting a man with an iron chair on January 3 at the Sunset Park.
