BPS Director Norvert Yano said that there was an increase in the number of juveniles arrested or cited for illegal consumption of alcohol for the month of November and December and he is expecting that more minors will be involved in alcohol drinking during the holiday season.
Yano said he is urging parents to be more watchful of their children and to ensure that they are not into drinking.
The Director said most of the parents are not aware that their children were drinking alcohol and they only learned when the juveniles received citation for illegal consumption of alcohol or when they engaged in car accidents.
He said parents should be more on the look out of their children especially this holiday season.
Yano is also asking the community to be more careful when driving on the road and when walking on the road during the holiday season.
“Let’s all be safe and please don’t drink and drive. This message goes for all adults and teenagers,” Yano said.
