Nartin was born at the Commonwealth Health Center at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 1, 2021.

For her mother, 22-year-old Richelle Semens, her second child brings hope to the family.

Midwife Sherry Devris delivered Riamaya, and the mother was under the care of Dr. David J. Borge, an obstetrician-gynecologist.

“I feel lucky and blessed,” said Richelle who is originally from Pohnpei. “Finally, 2020 is over and I’m looking forward to raising my two daughters.”

Her first daughter, Rianabelle, is 19 months old.

Richelle said she hopes for good health in 2021.

Riamaya’s father, 25-year-old Narphin Nartin, is a glass installer of Kautz Glass. Nartin’s family is from Yap.

Riamaya’s grandmother, Niuri Marcus, said: “It feels so amazing and I am so thankful for this another blessing to the family.”

Richelle is the second of Niuri’s four children.

“I feel excited to have a granddaughter born on New Year’s Day,” said Niuri who works at Top Line as a commercial cleaner assigned to the Francisco C. Ada/Saipan International Airport.
