Ngiraiwet accepts Ombudsman position

KOROR (Palau Horizon) – Former Ngardmau Delegate Lucio Ngiraiwet accepted the position as the new Ombudsman.


The president told reporters that Ngiraiwet will take on the job which was previously held by Moses Uludong.

Ngiraiwet’s appointment does not need congressional confirmation as it is a position created by the Office of the President through an executive order.

“Ngiraiwet has accepted the position.

The Ombudsman’s duties are to handle complaints about government agencies and fostering good public administration.

When Toribiong assumed office, he reactivated the Office of the Ombudsman.

The president said the Office of the Ombudsman is necessary to handle complaints from the community on government agencies services.
