According to Jullie Tellei, one of the volunteer Organizing Committee members, the conference is introduced by Fr. James “Jim” Gould, SJ, and with blessings from Fr. Rusk Saburo, Episcopal Vicar of the Catholic Vicariate of Palau, “to provide a positive faith development for the youths.”
Tellei added that the National Evangelization Team from Australia will also be in Palau to provide faith development support to Palau’s youth.
“There are no fees except for those youth who will be going to be Freshmen in MHS next year,” said Tellei. “Summer school will begin with this conference and will continue thereafter.” She encourages parents to send their children to attend this conference.
“This is a one-of-its kind event that will ever happen in Palau. Palauans, Filipinos, Americans, Chinese, other Islanders and all others are all welcome.Lunches and snacks will be provided,” Tellei said.
The conference is open to Catholic Youths age 14 to 20. Interested participants may register at the Sacred Heart Church in Koror or they may call the Rectory, the Priests’ House at 488-2226. Dead line for registration is June 16.
