This decision was made by non-government organizations in light of the recently held Forum’s Disability Ministers Meeting in Cook Islands.
Minister of Community and Cultural Affairs Faustina K. Rehuher Marugg represented Palau in that meeting which also drew the participation of the FSM, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Nauru, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga and Tuvalu.
Marugg said they discussed inclusive development and education for disabled people, strengthening disability non-government organizations to work effectively with governments on disability development.
The Palau Steering Committee members on Disabled People Assistance Fund are chairman Jay Olegeriil, vice chairwoman Lillian Uludong, members Dr. Becheserrak, Berry Moon Watson, Karen Kohama and Helen Sengebau.
