SENATE Vice President Justo S. Quitugua is acting Senate President until Saturday, July 30.
In a memorandum on Wednesday, July 13, Senate President Jude U. Hofschneider said he would be out of the Commonwealth on personal leave beginning that day.
As of Wednesday, there were no Senate sessions scheduled for July.
However, the Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Government Investigations will hold public hearings on Thursday and Friday, July 14-15.
On Thursday, the committee will meet in the Rota Mayor’s Office Conference Hall to conduct public hearings on Gov. Ralph DLG Torres’ nominations:
• Martin T. Mendiola to the Commonwealth Casino Commission, 8:30 a.m.
• Elaine Orilla to the Northern Marianas College board of regents, 10:30 a.m.
• Dianna B. Hocog to the CNMI Scholarship Office board of directors, 2:30 p.m.
On Friday, the public hearings on Rota will resume for these nominees:
• Esther Marie A. Yatar to serve as member of the Commonwealth Election Commission, 9 a.m.
• Vinney Atalig-Hocog to serve as member of the Northern Marianas Housing Corporation board of directors, 11 a.m.
