“I resigned as a member of the Palau Red Cross Board of Directors because of my disappointments and frustrations of the chairman inability to listen to others plan, ideas and recommendations,” Rehuher said I her letter.
She said that the general membership meeting was requested from its Chairman Santy Asanuma yesterday but then it was disregarded.
The meeting, she said was supposed to be about crisis management and filling in vacancies.
She said that the current membership is more focused on reforms in terms of problems rather than improvements.
The infighting among the board members continues as earlier suspended Red Cross Society Executive Director Miriam Chin asked the court to order board members to reinstate her in her position.
Named defendants are PRCS and Santy Asanuma , its board chairman.
Chin in Civil Action No. 10-168 claimed that she has been employed as the Executive Director of the PRCS for over 14 years and that on Sept. 27 that plaintiff was advised by telephone by the board’s chairman Asanuma that her employment has been terminated because she did not sign a document called Terms of Condition.
On Sept. 15, Chin has advised Asanuma that she will not sign the document.
She claimed that Asanuma is retaliating against the plaintiff by terminating her employment.
She is also seeking to declare that Asanuma did not have the right to discharge and terminate plaintiff from her employment.
The plaintiff is also seeking cost of court and reasonable fees from the defendants.
Asanuma in an interview said Chin’s employment has not been terminated and that she is still under suspension.
