Kudashev replaces Vitaly Vorobiev, who has been Russia’s ambassador to this island nation since 2006.
On Thursday last week, Kudashev was at the national Capitol to present his credentials to Palau President Johnson Toribiong. He left for Manila the next day.
A staff member at the Bureau of Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of State disclosed that Kudashev, like his predecessor Vorobiev, will serve as Russia’s envoy to Palau while at the same time serving as the ambassador of his nation to the Philippines.
Kudashev has been Russia’s ambassador to the Philippines since Oct. 2010.
Before that, Kudashev served as counselor, senior counselor and minister-counselor at the Russian Embassy in India from 1999 to 2005.
Prior to his posting in India, Kudashev held diplomatic positions in Singapore (1981-85) and the Philippines (1992-96).
Kudashev, who is fluent in Mandarin and English, is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations.
He is married and has one daughter.
Kudashev is the second ambassador of Russia to Palau since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 2006.
