Salvador leads Ngarchelong primary election

Based on the unofficial result of the Palau Election Commission (PEC), Salvador garnered 257 votes against the three other contenders: Lorenzo Ngiramolau who got 94 votes, Tobia F. Aguon 63 votes and Hayes Nigratregd 24 votes.

Gov. Salvador will be challenged by Ngiramolau on August 31- the scheduled general elections as the latter garnered the second highest votes.

Palau Election Officer III Festus Ringang said the election result will be certified next week.

The Ngarchelong State has 991 registered voters but 440 have cast their votes.

Meanwhile, the preparation for the general elections is now underway.

Based on the Palau Election Commission’s schedule the deadline of registration for the new voters is set on July 19. While the filing of nominating petition for the legislature seat is on July 2.

August 24 is the schedule forany request of absentee ballots and Sept. 7 is the deadline for the submission.
