For everyone

In her valedictory address, Santos said the award she received “has nothing to do with me.” The award may have been hers because of grades and the average on her transcript, the award may have her name on it, “but the truth is, it does not belong to me, and I wish I could break this award up into however many pieces I need to give to each person who I have had the privilege of meeting and knowing and learning from throughout my whole life.”

She was referring to each of her relatives, friends and classmates.

Helping each other

Villagomez, in his salutatory address, said “the beauty of our class is that we all have our strengths.”

“And for the things that we weren’t good at, we helped and encouraged each other,” he added.

He said although they were neither far from perfect nor free of drama, “I can proudly say that the people who warned me against moving to Mount Carmel were wrong. In fact, there’s a lot that they left out. They left out the part about how supportive MCS students are with each other even when we slipped. They skipped over the part about how we worked toward struggles and strived for excellence. The people here at MCS have taught me a lot about who I am and what it means to be strong.”

Quest for knowledge

MCS Acting President Frances Taimanao challenged the graduates to “continue your quest for knowledge and discover your own unique ways to contribute to society, leave a mark, and make your presence count wherever you go.”

As they celebrate their accomplishments, she urged the graduates to also remember that they are an important part of God’s wonderful plan. “Always make time for Him. No matter what, He is always there for us,” she added.
