University of Hawaii-Manoa’s Dr. George Hui, Dr. Alanna Tseng, and PhD student Annessa Golshan, virtually in her case, are providing a five-day hands-on science laboratory training-support to Kagman High School teachers Jolene Aguon and Nicholas Brennfleck, and Tinian Jr. Sr. High School’s Dr. Conrad Kiyoshi. The Public School System’s science coordinator, Asapmar Ogumoro, coordinated the program with Annette P. Sablan who was trained in biomedical research. Dr. George Hui also provides research training and mentoring to underrepresented minority and disadvantaged high school students in Hawaii and the Pacific through the Pacific STEP-UP Program.
