THE Senate Committee on Executive Appointments and Governmental Investigations on Wednesday recommended the confirmation of Joseph P. Fitial’s nomination as a member of the Civil Service Commission.
Fitial’s appointment now awaits the approval of the full Senate.
Fitial earned a bachelor of arts in communication from San Diego State University and a master of communication management from University of Southern California in 2017.
Since 2021, Fitial has worked in the human resources department of the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation.
If his nomination is confirmed, Fitial will serve a term of six years on the Civil Service Commission which is tasked with dispensing an impartial resolution of grievances filed by government employees. The commission also regulates government employment practices.
