THE Friends of San Jose on Tinian, in collaboration with the Tinian Mayor’s Office, will hold a fundraising activity during the island’s fiesta for the San Jose Church which was severely damaged during Super Typhoon Yutu in Oct. 2018.

The activity will also support the island’s youth ministry activities, according to Friends of San Jose Church co-chair Kimberlyn King-Hinds.

This year’s San Jose fiesta will be held on April 28 to 30, 2023, while  the Mass in honor of San Jose the Worker will be celebrated on Monday, May 1, 2023.

“We are excited to lead the planning of this annual event and to rally our community to support the effort to rebuild a permanent concrete church for our community,” King-Hinds said.

“The annual fiesta used to be focused on bringing the community together to help the church, and over the years it has morphed into just another community festival. We want to bring the focus back to the church, and to rally our community to come together and take ownership of the rebuilding of our church,” she added.

The Friends of San Jose are also looking for sponsors for this year’s event.

For more information on how you can sponsor this event, email friendsofsanjosechurch@gmail.com or go to the Facebook pages of the Friends of San Jose Church Tinian or the Office of the Mayor of Tinian and Aguiguan.
