Ueki and Jackson were sworn-in yesterday after the President’s State of the Republic Address.
They were sworn-in by Associate Justice Kathleen Salii.Henry in an interview said that he is honored by the appointment.“I can say Palau’s future and developments lies in our friends abroad, at the diplomatic missions abroad. I am honored to take this very important role and I will be working hard to make sure Palau and Taiwan’s diplomatic relationship will be strengthened through constructive engagement. Always be dealing face to face and verbal communication with the people of Taiwan through the ambassador here in Palau,” Henry said.Henry got his masteral and doctorate degree in business administration at the United States. He lived for 11 years in the States and 12 years in Guam and has been engaged in real estate and banking business.In 2000 he went back to Palau and has been active in charity works. He also brought investors from Europe who leased a property in Ngaraard State to build a resort there.Henry is an active member of Lebuu Society who promotes Palauan through hard work.Ueki in a separate interview said that he is confident he can support President Toribiong’s program by building a stronger relationship between Palau and Japan.“I want to build a stronger relationship between Japan and Palau and I want to be instrument to that goal,” he said.
