Vandalism incident at a church in Koblerville

(DPS) — On April 3, 2022, at about 7:22 a.m., the Department of Public Safety received a 911 call reporting a burglary and theft incident at the St. Jude Catholic Church in Koblerville. Police were dispatched to the scene.

At the scene, police met with the caller and noticed a broken window and a brick next to a pile of broken glass. Police logged this case and began to investigate.

On April 5, 2022, DPS received a call from an anonymous caller stating that Byron Deleon Guerrero who resides in the village of Koblerville, damaged the church window.

A follow-up investigation was conducted during which Deleon Guerrero was interviewed. He admitted to damaging the window on this occasion and as well as several times in the past. When asked why, Deleon Guerrero stated, “There is nothing to do.”

This case has been forwarded to the Attorney General’s Office.
