Yap Homecoming Festival this Saturday

The festival is a day to celebrate the Yapese spirits by reuniting friends and families and a time for people to connect their past to the future through photos that will be displayed in the administration parking lot on that day.

The festival is centered on people renewing ancestral links and friendships while celebrating the “Mogethin” spirit.

The Yap Visitors Bureau has been soliciting and collecting photos from foreigners and locals alike, most especially those who might have taken some photos of Yap during the Trust Territory time or even during the Navy Administration period to be displayed during the occasion.

The activities will take place at the Colonia Community Center on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. and will conclude following a two-hour performance by the “Red Zone” which is scheduled to end at 10 p.m. that evening.
