(NMIBF) — The Northern Mariana Islands Basketball Federation’s Three vs Three Hoop Fest Tournament will feature 27 teams and competition will start tonight Friday, with the women’s open games taking place at the TSL Sports Complex.

Five squads are entered in the women’s open category, while the men’s open and boys U18 divisions drew 10 and 12 teams, respectively. Each division will have a double-elimination format with the boys 18 matches scheduled for Aug. 19 and 20 and the men’s open set for Aug. 26 and 27.
For Friday night’s kick-off matches, Funsies will battle the Lady Aces at 5:30 p.m., while on the other end of the court, it will be Jammerz versus Hot Shots. The Bae-Ballerz complete the women’s open cast and will challenge the winner between Funsies and Lady Aces in the 6 p.m. game. Matches will continue this Saturday, including the title game slated for 11 a.m.
Each match will be played for 10 minutes with the team having the lead at the end of the regulation or the first squad to score 21 points winning the game.
The NMIBF’s series of 3×3 events is held in support of FIBA’s 3×3 program. The competition will also allow the NMI to send teams to official FIBA 3×3 events.
