PITCHERS George David of Tokahao and Bert Camacho of the Queens of Diamonds were  named championship MVPs of the 2022 Budweiser Belau Amateur Softball League on Sunday at the Dandan baseball field.

David, whose team won the men’s division title, said he was “shocked” when his name was called. “It was very unexpected and I’m very excited. It was all teamwork and without them [my Tokahao team mates], I wouldn’t have received this award.”

He added, “We did pretty good throughout the season and, again, it was a team effort. We took it all the way to the championship but it could have been anybody’s game, really.”

In the women’s division, Bert Camacho was always a threat on the pitcher’s mound and deserved to win the MVP award, but she was happy and grateful to receive it nonetheless.
