THE Comets bagged their second win in a row in the Saipan Baseball League U12 Tournament after trouncing the Blue Jays, 16-6, on Saturday at the Miguel “Tan Ge” Pangelinan Baseball Field.

The Blue Jays had a better start with Napu Reyes connecting a three-RBI double to grasp the lead, 3-0.

The Blue Jays’ momentum was quickly shot down, however, as their pitcher failed to find the strike zone, allowing six of seven batters to round the bases via base on ball.

The Blue Jays tried to catch up  but could only squeeze in three runs.

The Comets, for their part, regained a comfortable distance in the top of the third with two runs while adding seven more in the fourth for a 10-point advantage, 16-6.

The Blue Jays attempted to stay alive with a runner on third base, but Comets pitcher Kody Maratita struck out two batters while another’s flyball was caught to end the game early with only four innings played.
