Belau Amateur Softball Association advisor Derron Flores, who is also a baseball/softball coach, player and fan,  said they are grateful to Rep. Edwin Propst and Sen. Vinnie Sablan for their help in cleaning up the Dandan Baseball Field.

Flores said he himself is “ready to lend a hand in any way I can — I’ve been in this sport for 30 years and I just want to continue to help.”

Flores also wants to remind teams and players to continue complying with the Covid-10 safety protocols: wear face masks,  observe the six feet social distancing rule, and  constant hand sanitation, especially at a gathering of 10 or more people at any given time.

The Belau Amateur Softball League season was suspended early last year with the declaration of the Covid-19 emergency.

As of March 15, 2020, the Man Amigos were on top of the standings with a 4-0 record. PeLeLiu followed  with 4 wins and 1 loss; Red Men, 3-2; Mommy Choru, 3-2; SuFa, 2-2; Angkaur, 2-3; Hagu Lamun 1-3;  IPI Masters, 1-3; and Asahi, 0-4.

The games will resume this Sunday, Feb. 7, with Hagu Lamun facing Angkaur at 11 a.m., Asahi vs PeLeLiu at 12 p.m., Mommy Charu against Red Men at 1 p.m. and IPI Masters squaring off with SuFa at 2 p.m.
