THE VFW IT&E Destroyers and Ideal Signs JC Rustlers remain the top two teams of the Tuesday Division of the SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after earning separate wins Tuesday.
The Destroyers, who are first overall, collected their 116th win against 9 Eleven B.E. Skeptron, 7-6, at the VFW Bar.
The Destroyers established control early as Rey Pinangay and Jeff Garcia claimed two of the three rounds of the opening Singles 8-Ball game for a 2-1 lead.
As a team, Skeptron flourished with Mark Ignacio and Arlon Buensalida winning the following single-round Partners 8-Ball game to even the score.
But the Destroyers reigned supreme in the singles, pulling another 2-1 run to regain the advantage, 4-3.
The back-and-forth battle continued throughout the rest of the match but fortunately for the Destroyers, Roman Rodriguez and Rolly Villanueva managed to work as a team to bag the final Partners 8-Ball game and edge Skeptron, 7-6.
