THE Falcons continue to soar high in the 2023 Tan Holdings Saipan Baseball League after collecting their 10th win of the season by defeating the Natives, 8-4, on Monday at the Francisco “Tan Ko” Palacios Baseball Field.
Both teams started the game with a single run in the opening inning. The Natives them grasped the lead thanks to Juan Tenorio and Cameron Towai who earned an RBI each, contributing two runs in the bottom of the second while the Falcons answered with one run in the top of the third.
The Natives, however, fell silent while the Falcons gradually worked their way back, starting with a solo run scored in the top of the fifth followed with two more in the top of the sixth, highlighted by Henry Aguon and Mira Giovanni who each hit an RBI single as their team seized the lead for the first time, 5-3.
In the seventh and final inning, the Falcons added three more runs led by Aguon’s two-RBI single.
The Natives tried to stay alive with Towai rounding the bases, but all hope was lost as the Falcons retired three consecutive batters to secure the win, 8-4.
