FMS, TMS beat opponents in girls basketball

FRANCISCO M. Sablan Middle School and Tanapag Middle School defeated their respective opponents in the IT&E Interscholastic Girls Middle School Basketball League Wednesday at the Marianas High School gym.

FMS displayed a near-perfect performance in dismantling Chacha Oceanview Middle School, 18-2.

Rosie Saralu’s footwork and ability to control the ball remained her biggest strength as she led FMS to victory. In the opening half, she scored eight points and assisted Kaleo Mendiola with two buckets to give FMS a 12-2 lead.

While Chacha continued to struggle, FMS’s Saralu extended her range with a triple and added another bucket while team mates Jaena Laniyo, Kohane Nishimura and Nerita Sellem joined the onslaught by scoring two points each to seal the win, 18-2.

TMS vs SIS

TMS, for their part, bested Saipan International School, 19-11.

Kayshlie Aguon powered TMS to victory with seven points — including a three-pointer — in the first half  for a 15-4 lead.

SIS tried to flip the script in the second half, but their rally fell short, and they had to settle for defeat, 11-19.

Hopwood Middle School 1 joined the winner’s circle by outscoring Agape Christian School, 20-16, while Dandan Middle School routed Hopwood 2, 38-0.
