GCA JV outlasts MCS JV in volleyball

GRACE Christian Academy’s junior varsity team collected their first win in the SY 22-23 PSS-NMIVA Girls High School Volleyball by powering past Mount Carmel School’s junior varsity team, 24-22, 21-16, Thursday at the Marianas High School gym.

The GCA JV Lady Eagles had a strong start and seized a 7-4 lead thanks to Eunji Hahn, Hannah Tenorio and Fiona Regan.

The MCS JV Lady Knights fought back, but GCA JV remained aggressive and stretched the gap even further, 14-9.

Undeterred, MCS JV continued to strike back with relentless returns and a few spikes to even the score at game point, 22-22.

But the Lady Eagles stayed soaring above long enough to beat the Lady Knights in the first set, 24-22.

In the second set, GCA JV remained in control. The Lady Eagles’ ability to block incoming spikes and keep the ball alive were their biggest assets. Due to forced errors, MCS JV was left behind as GCA JV claimed the second set to win the match, 21-16.
