GREGORIO T. Camacho 1 leads the elementary school division of the IT&E Interscholastic Basketball League after winning two games Saturday at the Marianas High School gym.
GTC 1 claimed their first victory by edging Koblerville Elementary School 2, 13-11.
In the opening half, both teams struggled to find the bottom of the net, but GTC were able to put up points on the board for a 4-0 lead.
In the second half, KOB2 broke the silence with back-to-back buckets courtesy of Elli Jonas while team mates I.S. Mesik, Ice Dopulos and Johana Imperia kept the momentum flowing.
GTC fought back with teamwork with Maleia Saures scoring four points while Dayton Marchedesch delivered two to reach a 10-10 deadlock which forced the game into overtime.
It continued to be a close battle but in the end, KOB2’s Imperia could only split her free throw attempts while GTC 1’s Siah Casil connected the game-winning shot for a 13-11 victory.

Against San Vicente Elementary School 1, GTC 1 showed complete dominance with Debron and Meleia Saures scoring eight points each en route to a 22-0 blowout victory.

Reyes Elementary School 2 outplayed Garapan Elementary School 1, 16-2; GES 1 triumphed over Saipan International School 2, 16-6; SIS 2 won against SVS 1 via forfeit; KOB2 outlasted WSR 2, 9-6; WSR 1 trounced GTC 2, 27-4; KOB1 beat SVS 2 via forfeit; GES 2 pummeled SIS 1, 39-2; KOB 1 silenced SIS 1, 18-0; WSR 1 bested SVS 2 via forfeit; and GTC 2 routed GES 2, 24-3.
