JOE Tudela on Sunday joined the elite of the Amigos Golf Club by winning the July Ace of the Month title at the east course of Laolao Bay Golf & Resort.
On day one of the tournament, held on July 9, Tudela shot a gross of 75. With a handicap of 12, he placed second overall with a net score of 63.
Day two proved to be a bit tougher for Tudela who ended with a gross of 81 and a net score of 69.
However, his day one performance was enough to give him the top spot with a net total of 132.
In second place was Sixtus Aquino. He ended day one with a gross of 84, but with a handicap of 26, his net score was 58.
On day two, he finished with a gross of 101 and a net score of 75. With a net total of 133, Aquino settled for second place.
In third place was Sherlyn Jones who shot a day one gross of 85 and a net score of 71, thanks to her 14 handicap.
She improved her game on day two, shooting a gross of 81 and a net score of 67, which gave her a net total of 138.
Twenty players joined the monthly tournament.
In the optional play, the par 3 winners were Jay Muna for hole #3, Ben Jones Sr. for hole #7, Eric Mandell for hole #13, and Fred Cataluna for hole #17. Each won $90.
The club’s August Ace of the Month tournament qualifier will be held on Aug. 6 at the east course of Laolao Bay Golf & Resort with a tee time of 8:30 a.m. while the ace round will be held on Aug. 20 at the west course with a tee time of 8:30 a.m.
