21 bouts set for Fan Appreciation Night

Facing off in one of the night’s biggest MMA bouts are Marianas Elite’s Derick “El Peligro” Rangamar, going head to head against “Badd” Brad Palacios. Both have met in the ring twice, and are currently tied at one win each.

With one win at 195 lbs, Ryan “Trobz” Ngirbabul will slam heads against Martin “Ningbo Slice” Cepeda.

Looking for his first victory is South Side Syndicates’ Rick “Too Slick” San Nicolas, taking on Neil “Lionheart” Taisacan at 215 lbs. One of Trench Tech’s very own, Slade “Rage” Adelbai will be going against Rob “Pitbull” Palacios. Adelbai is experienced in the ring, holding nine wins, three losses, and one draw.

Fresh from training, Joy Inais Fred will debut against Beat Boys’ Roland “Sharky” Kapileo. Trench Tech’s Shane “Pika Boo” Alvarez must also defend his perfect 5W-0L record against Lyle DLGuerrero.

Though dominated by MMA action, Fan Appreciation Night’s boxing matches include Frank “The Tank” Faisao and “No Way” Jose Mafnas. Victor Norita and James Castro, as well as Milo Pomee and Pete Castro will head off in the same event.

Submission bouts feature: Patris “Tricky” Nikky vs. Tavita Lueta and Syl “The Deal” Teregeyo vs. Rey “Tap Man” Kim.

In K-1 kickboxing, both Regino Mundo and Aaron Tomokane are looking forward to their first win. Mundo fought Jacob Ilo in ‘Rites of Passage 9’ but resulted with a draw. Tomokane is making his debut however, and won’t easily lose. Also in the same category are Leonard Sablan, Ken Taitano, “Tabi” Jay Muna, and Ilo.

Other MMA fights include: Danny “The Warrior” Santos (Debut) vs. John “Profit” Moses (0W-1L) at 145 lbs;

Josh “Chaos” Duenas (Debut) vs. Josh Cruz (1W-2L) at 145 lbs;

Frank Atalig (Debut) vs. Joe “Da Combo” Duenas (0W-1L) at 125 lbs;

Shawn Ogo (1W-2L) vs. Mike Baza (0W-1L) at 180 lbs;

Derrick “The Gladiator” Chen (1W-3L) vs. Alverick “PreTTy Boy” Alvarez (4W-0L) at 145 lbs;

Roman “BOOM” Alvarez (1W-0L) vs. Johmar Untalan (0W-5L) at 145 lbs; and

Mylo Lassiter (Debut) vs. Kyle Kaipat (1W-2L).

Trench Tech will be celebrating its year end bash with guest referee Frank “The Crank” Camacho and a mini concert from ‘Singers And Instruments.’ Official weigh in for all competitors is scheduled today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Trench Tech Gym, located in San Antonio. All participants must be present for contract signing.

Tickets are $5 at the door, which opens at 5:30 p.m. Fights start at 7 p.m.

Juan Ogarto (140 lbs), Maitai Charley (145 lbs), John Lisua (180 lbs), Rey Kim (180 lbs), and Alvin Buekis (160 lbs) are currently on stand by and searching for opponents. For anyone interested, call 483-4662.
